“. . . and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33. Jesus knew as one crowd approached, that they had not come just for Him or to behold His acts of righteousness. He had fed them before and now they wanted another miracle meal. How often I come to God with my own agenda! I want something that He has given me in the past: a job, a raise, or perhaps some kind of affirmation. When I do seek Jesus I often find that what I want from Him now, is not what He wants to give me today. “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.” – John 6:27. Our faith is revealed when we can thank Him for what He gives us now, trusting that He knows all of our needs.
