Raw apple cinnamon oatmeal, for a delicious and satisfying breakfast.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free rolled oats* or other certified gluten-free brand
- 1 cup or more filtered water
- 1 apple, pealed, cored, and quartered
- 1/4 teaspoon or more Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Madhava raw organic Agave Nectar (optional)
- 2 teaspoons raw Now Foods raw organic sunflower seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Now Foods raw organic chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup raw almond milk
Directions:
- Soak the oats in filtered water overnight in an airtight container. Drain, then transfer the oats to a serving bowl.
- Place the quartered apple, cinnamon, and agave into a food processor and pulse to chop the apples into small pieces. Don’t over process.
- Place the mixture on the oats, and if you like sprinkle with the sunflower seeds and chopped walnuts. Pour in the almond milk and serve.
Variations:

- If on a low sugar diet you can replace the agave with a desired amount of stevia. Keep in mind that a little bit of stevia goes a long way, so you may want to use it sparingly.
- For maple flavored oatmeal, replace the raw agave with maple syrup. Though by doing so the recipe will no longer be considered raw, since maple syrup is heat processed.

* Technically, rolled oats are not considered to be raw because they are heated when processed. For a truly raw recipe, replace rolled oats with raw Gluten-Free Prairie Oat Groats or other brand.
