Loaded with vitamin C, this strawberry pomegranate smoothie is really good for your health, and tastes really really good!
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup pomegranate juice*
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 2 tablespoons shelled hemp seeds
- 1 1/2 cups coconut water ice **
- 1/4 teaspoon stevia powder, or to taste (optional)
- pomegranate seeds, to taste.
Directions:
- Blend in a high powered blender all the ingredients except for the ice, on low speed then high, for 1 minute or until smooth.
- Add the ice and blend 30 seconds or until just blended. Immediately pour into a large glass, garnish with pomegranate seeds, add a straw, and serve with the remaining pomegranate seeds on the side to snack on.
Yield:
Makes about 1 (16oz) serving.
*You can purchase pure pomegranate juice, or for fresh pomegranate juice use a citrus juicer to squeeze the pomegranate as you would an orange.
**Instead of regular ice cubes made with water, you can make flavored ice cubes by freezing coconut water in ice cube trays, or by freezing your favorite pure fruit juice or cooled herbal tea.
