Our very language can rob us of joy. Anger is a choice, but many of us think that it is an unconditional response. “She makes me mad!” “He upset me when he said that!” “You made me cry!” and etc. We feel a false guilt when we say, “I made them really angry!” or “She’s depressed because I _____.” These are not true statements. We know what they mean, but Jesus endured the cross, for the joy set before Him. We choose how we respond, and changing the way we talk can make a big difference. “And your joy no man taketh from you.” – John 16:22 KJV
