A perfect easy to make, easy to store, nutritious snack for hikers or anyone who likes to snack on the go. You can even place the mixture in a serving bowl for party guests.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup each of 4 kinds of nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, cashews, and pecans*
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 3/4 cup raisins
- Himalayan salt to taste
Directions:
- Place all ingredients in a quart size Ziploc Storage Bag. Seal and shake the bag until well combined.
- Transfer mixture to a bowl and serve, or refrigerate in the bag. You can also double the recipe and divide the mixture between 6 or 8 small Ziploc Snack Bags, so to easily grab one before heading out the door. Stores refrigerated for 4 to 6 months. Sniff before eating or serving, however, because nuts can go rancid. Discard if the mixture has a bad odor or tastes bitter.
Yield:
Makes about 2 cups
*Choose organic, raw, unsalted nuts and seeds whenever possible, since the commercially-packaged ones are often treated with chemicals.
