God has given us the choice to go our way or His way. We can either do as we please or be pleased to live according to His will. The ten commandments are instructions from God that can bring joy. It’s when we fail to live up to His best for us that brings sorrow. But sorrow doesn’t have to last forever, since it can lead to repentance, which means to return to God and His ways. There’s also God’s will for our personal or individual lives. If you truly seek Him with a want for His will in your life, He will hear your prayers and give you the desires of your heart. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'” – Jeremiah 29:11-13
